When I first started this process it was to find an actor that worked at a director/producer for my Communication Media Studies Class. After talking with Henry Winkler it was so much more than that. He made a personal connection with each student he talked with. I had students who were on an emotional high all night last night; they couldn't believe they had just talked with a celebrity in their classroom. I guess I hope the students realize that there is no task too difficult and if they put their hearts into something. – Mr. Jeff Gendall
Here are two students perspectives of the event.
The interview with Henry Winkler I felt was almost surreal. It is not every day that a Hollywood actor, director, producer, author and the Fonz of all people gave small town high school a chance to talk with him. We were able to ask questions like “what is the advice that he has to give to people who are wanting to go into show business?” to more personal questions like “how closely do you keep in touch with the cast of “Happy Days”? He was very down to earth and he talked to each of us, and he wanted us to all introduce ourselves. It was a real once and a life time experience. – Kaley
The interview with Henry Winkler was unbelievable; I felt it was almost like a dream. We had grades from 9-12 in the room while we had our skype interview with him. All students were able to ask him one-on-one questions, which then he would answer to the best of his ability. Also, he was very funny and took light of the questions asked which made for a fun afternoon. Henry talked about his dyslexia, how it affects his everyday life and what he does to get through. One of our students asked him how he reads the lines of the plays, he responded “If there is a will, there is a way”. In conclusion, it was such an honor to meet Henry Winkler - Alyshia

The Hudson Bay Riders football team are the 2A 6Man Football Champions for 2011! After earning a silver medal in both 2009 and 2010, the Riders would settle for nothing less than a gold medal on Saturday, November 12th against the visiting Rosthern Longhorns, winning by a score of 62-20. The day began with a heavy snowfall that continued well into the game making players on both teams adapt to weather conditions. Community members volunteered many hours preparing the field prior to kick off as well as during the game using everything from quads, sidewalk sweepers, tractors and even shovels to tackle the snowfall. The Riders cannot thank these volunteers enough for the hours spent supporting our team.
The gold medal victory came after a truly dominating 12 game undefeated season that saw the team amass an amazing 1058 points for and allowing only 152 points against. The Riders football team was led by a core group of dedicated, focused seniors that knew exactly what they wanted from the first practice in August and made good on their dreams.
The Hudson Bay Riders are coached by Gene Hauta, Ricky Anderson, Braden Messer and Trevor Wasilow.
